

Oh, Mary! at Trafalgar Theatre, London is Cole Escola’s dark comedy about a miserable, suffocated Mary Todd Lincoln in the weeks leading up to Abraham Lincoln’s assassination. The play follows unrequited yearning, alcoholism and suppressed desires as it examines the forgotten life and dreams of Mrs Lincoln.
Directed by Sam Pinkleton, the production received Tony Awards for Best Leading Actor in a Play (Cole Escola) and Best Direction of a Play (Sam Pinkleton). The New York Times described it as “one of the best comedies in years”.
