Trainspotting - the musical is a stage production based on the film that was released thirty years ago. Written by Irvine Welsh, with music and lyrics by Stephen McGuinness and Irvine Welsh, and directed and developed by Caroline Jay Ranger, it brings Renton, Sick Boy, Begbie, Spud, Tommy and Kelly back to the stage alongside an ensemble cast and a live band.

The show combines songs from the film with original material, presented as a musical set in the West End. It is described as a new, expectation-defying production centred on outsiders, rebels and the story of defiance in the face of an uncertain future.

Featuring familiar tracks from the film and new songs, Trainspotting - the musical is positioned as a contemporary stage version of a well-known story, with the original characters and live music at its core.
