Trainspotting - the musical at Haymarket in London is a stage adaptation of Irvine Welsh’s Trainspotting. Written by Irvine Welsh, with music and lyrics by Stephen McGuinness and Irvine Welsh, and directed and developed by Caroline Jay Ranger, it brings Renton, Sick Boy, Begbie, Spud, Tommy and Kelly back to the stage alongside an ensemble cast and a live band.
Set thirty years on from the film, the production combines some of the tracks from the film with original songs. It presents the story of the outsiders and rebels at the centre of Trainspotting in musical form.
