Grace Pervades at the Haymarket, London, is a new play by David Hare about Sir Henry Irving and Ellen Terry, and the company at the Lyceum Theatre where their partnership helped shape theatre history. The story follows Irving, the greatest actor of the Victorian age, and Terry, the most loved and best paid actress of the day.
Ralph Fiennes plays Sir Henry Irving, with Miranda Raison as Ellen Terry. The production comes fresh from a sell-out season at the Theatre Royal Bath and is led by an Olivier award-winning creative team including director Jeremy Herrin and designer Bob Crowley.
The play explores a relationship that was never known for sure to be romantic, but is certain to have changed the theatre forever.
