Disney's Hercules at Theatre Royal Drury Lane in London is a musical inspired by the animated film and based on the ancient myth. Set in ancient Greece, it follows Hercules, who is not quite a god, as he tries to save the world from Hades.
The show combines a wise-cracking story with adventure, self-discovery and love. It is directed and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw, with music by Alan Menken, lyrics by David Zippel, a new book by Robert Horn and Kwame Kwei-Armah, and co-choreography by Tanisha Scott.
If you know the film, this stage version keeps the central myth while bringing the story to the London stage in the setting of Theatre Royal Drury Lane.
