Music Genres
Emerging from Osaka's underground scene, TAMIW (pronunciation: tamyū) are a left-field electronic band with live intruments, formed in 2018 by vocalist Tami, known for blending ambient textures, bass music, and alternative pop into a distinctive, immersive sound. Their music is created at "Hidden Place," a studio set within a temple and animal cemetery where members of the band also work-an environment that deeply influences their atmospheric and emotional style. After gaining attention through a U.S. tour and a standout appearance at FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL's ROOKIE A GO-GO stage, they continued to evolve with releases including future exercise, Floating Girls, and Fight for Innocence. Their latest album, Farewell Party (2024), expands their sound further with rich analog synths, sampling, and hip-hop elements, alongside new member Taichi. Now bringing their unique live show to London, TAMIW offer a rare chance to experience one of Japan's most intriguing experimental acts.
Supporting are Paerish, a deep and exciting alternative rock band from Paris. Formed in the mid-2010s. Their music blends shoegaze, emo, indie rock, and grunge influences, characterized by fuzzy guitars, melodic hooks, and emotionally charged vocals. They are known for their dynamic songwriting and introspective themes, often exploring anxiety, relationships, and self-doubt.
The formation of Paerish dates back to 2010 when the band members met in school in Paris. Members Court, Dupraz (bass) and Louvion (drums) - would first meet and form as a trio five years ago in a Paris film school, where Court and Dupraz were studying film production and Louvion sound engineering.
They first gained traction with early releases before breaking out with their debut album Semi Finalists (2018). Their follow-up, Fixed It All (2021), further expanded their sound, and their third album You're In Both Dreams (And You're Scared) (2023) received strong critical praise, helping them reach a wider international audience.
