About Let the Right One In

Let the Right One In at Underbelly Boulevard Soho is a stage adaptation of John Ajvide Lindqvist’s best-selling Swedish novel and award-winning film. Written by BAFTA-winning dramatist Jack Thorne and directed by James Dacre, it presents the story as a vampire myth and coming-of-age love story.

Oskar is a bullied, lonely teenage boy living with his mother on a housing estate at the edge of town, when sinister killings begin to rock the neighbourhood. Eli, the young girl who has just moved in next door, does not go to school and never leaves the flat by day. As their friendship deepens, Oskar discovers that Eli has been a teenager for a very long time.

The production features 18 young performers from the NYT REP Company and forms part of National Youth Theatre’s Love Bites season in its 70th anniversary year.

Before you book

All performances are Relaxed Horror. The theatre takes a relaxed approach to movement and noise in the audience, latecomers are admitted, and you may leave the performance space and return at any time. Ear defenders and ear plugs will be available, and Chill Out Spaces will be available for anyone who needs a break before or during the performance.

Visual Cue Seats can be booked for every performance. These fixed seats in the auditorium have a light positioned close to them, and the Visual Cue Guide gives advance warning of moments of high tension or sudden changes such as blackouts, jump scares and loud noises. The performance on Saturday 16 May at 2pm will be captioned in English, and the performance on Tuesday 19 May at 7pm will be audio described with a free Touch Tour before the performance; places are limited. A companion or personal assistant may receive a complimentary ticket through the Box Office. No refunds or exchanges are available after purchase.
