The Krakens Living Relic: TERRARIUM MASTERCLASS

Legend tells of a merchant trading ship carrying barrels of spiced rum and exotic spices from the Caribbean, that was ferociously and furiously attacked by the monstrous Kraken beast. The ship was lost, apart from a few barrels that survived, stained black by the Beast’s ink. But the story doesn’t end there... When The Inferno’s crew recovered these floating barrels, they discovered that whilst some still contained this precious spiced rum, one had become a vessel for life itself. Encrusted with rare deep-sea moss and mysterious flora from the Kraken’s realm, the barrel revealed nature’s defiance against even the most fearsome legend.

To celebrate this spirit of unexpected life born from darkness, we have decided to honour The Kraken with a series of Kraken Rum Terrarium Masterclasses.

Step into a world of myth, mystery, and living art for an unforgettable, hands-on experience at Rhum Tavern with Kraken Black Spiced Rum. In this exclusive masterclass, you’ll craft your own self-sustaining ecosystem inside an authentic Kraken Rum bottle—all while enjoying some signature Kraken cocktails.

The Workshop Experience

We start with an introduction to the history and science behind terrariums—from Victorian plant hunters to the resurgence of terrarium culture in the 1970s. We then walk you through all the materials on the table.

Next comes a demonstration on how to build your terrarium, highlighting the self-sufficiency of the plants within these miniature ecosystems.

Then it’s time to create your own using the tools and materials provided by London Terrariums, all housed in your very own Kraken Black Spiced Rum bottle.

We finish with watering and care instructions, and you’ll leave with a comprehensive guide to keep your terrarium thriving.
