Roles We'll Never Play (2026) at the Lyric Theatre, London, is a one-night-only concert that turns casting on its head. West End stars step into roles they would not usually be cast in, with a line-up built around unexpected song choices and fresh performances.
The event brings together Alice Fearn, Danielle Steers, Kitty Scott-Claus and the internationally renowned London Gay Men's Chorus, with more names still to be announced. Produced by Tom Duern alongside Nik Haukohl, Josie Kemp and Lauren Soley, the night has been created by performers and creatives who have volunteered their time in support of the cause.
At the centre of the event is an LGBTQ+ IVF fundraiser. Lauren and Josie, who met while performing in Les Misérables, are seeking to start a family and are self-funding IVF under current NHS criteria, with expected costs of over £35,000. The performance raises funds in response to that challenge.
