Disney's The Lion King at the Lyceum Theatre, London is the stage production of Disney's film, reimagined by director Julie Taymor. It follows Simba's journey from wide-eyed cub to his destined role as King of the Pridelands, with music, colour and theatrical effects brought together on stage.

The story has been transformed into a live musical production rather than a straight retelling of the film. It presents the familiar narrative in a format designed for the theatre audience.

Key facts: Running time is 2 hours and 30 minutes, including one interval. Performances are Tuesday to Saturday at 7.30pm, with Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2.30pm.

Before you book

Age guidance: Recommended for ages 6 and up. Children under 3 are not permitted into the Lyceum Theatre. All persons aged 16 or under must be accompanied by an adult and may not sit on their own in the auditorium. Everyone entering the theatre, regardless of age, must have a ticket.

On the day: The venue opens 90 minutes before the start time. Guests must be seated no later than 5 minutes before the show begins. Arrival times vary by seating area: 45 minutes before start time for Grand Circle standing positions, 60 minutes before start time for Stalls and Boxes E and K, and 75 minutes before start time for Royal Circle and Boxes A, B, F and G.

Tickets and other information: You will receive a confirmation email after booking. If you choose box office collection, print the confirmation and bring it on the day, at least 30 minutes before the performance start time. E-tickets are sent by email and can be printed at home. No refunds or exchanges are available after purchase. Strobe lighting is used several times during the performance.
