The Producers at the Garrick Theatre is the first major London revival of Mel Brooks’ musical adaptation of the classic cult film. After a sold-out run at the Menier Chocolate Factory, it transfers to the West End with a story built around Max Bialystock, a down-on-his-luck Broadway producer, and timid accountant Leo Bloom, who scheme to create the biggest flop in theatre history.
The original Broadway production won a record twelve Tony Awards. The show takes aim at Broadway traditions through a satirical story that backfires spectacularly, with the scheme ending to thunderous applause.
