About

CHLOE PETTS

Over past five years Chloe Petts has established herself as one of the most exciting rising stars on the circuit and a smasher of a festival act. She is honest, intelligent, authentic, extremely funny and a perfect snapshot of what it is to be a young Londoner in 2023.

Chloe returned to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this summer with her new show If You Can’t Say Anything Nice which sold-out in the first week of the festival which led to adding 6 extra shows. After a hugely successful time supporting Ed Gamble on his national tour, Chloe toured her own show extensively this autumn. This show, as well as her debut – Transcience - received rave reviews from publications including The Guardian, The Telegraph and The Evening Standard, along with 5 stars from Gwendolyn Smith of The I, who descried the show as a “barnstormer of a Fringe debut.”

On television and radio, Chloe has been a regular on The Frank Skinner Show, World Cup Breakfast, MOTDx fighting the good fight for her own beloved Crystal Palace, Richard Osman’s House of Games, Hypothetical, Fighting Talk, as well podcast behemoths The Guilty Feminist and Off Menu.

She is a co-founder of The Lol Word, a queer comedy collective that hosts sell-out monthly London nights, boasting the finest female and non-binary queer acts on the circuit. Their most recent Edinburgh run was a sell-out. Diva Magazine has described it as “a space that is demographically queer, inclusive, and safe, and on top of all of that – the comedic talent is smart, insightful, hilarious, and completely relatable” – a perfect description of Chloe herself.

“One of the most compelling young comics.”The Guardian

“Clearly a rising star whose name will soon be in lights.”Evening Standard

“An inexhaustibly funny mind.”DIVA

PETER FLANAGAN

Peter is one of a seemingly endless line of natural Irish talent that has taken up home in London.  A grand, straight ahead gag teller in the classic mould, he's lighting up every big room he plays. Back in Dublin, he’s a regular at the city’s Laughter Lounge and a contributor to national TV and radio programmes including Virgin Media’s the Tonight Show and Newstalk’s the Hard Shoulder. Whip-smart and uncompromising, Peter’s writing has appeared on the Irish Times, the Irish Independent, Sky, BBC and Comedy Central UK.

AND YOUR RESIDENT HOST:

BEN VAN DER VELDE

One of the quickest wits around and a much-loved compere, he always brings a jam-packed back of nonsense, silliness and wisecracks to every gig he hosts.

"Wonderfully improvised riffs showcasing his impressive spontaneity and sharp tongue." Edinburgh Festivals Magazine

“The perfect comedy club host – he is a master of audience interaction. The audience weren’t just warmed up, but pretty hysterical even before the first act of the night hit the stage.”Huffington Post
