Had to Queue for an hour in the freezing cold..  Staff were really nice.  Redbull and Vodka  ~  £15 ..  Atmosphere and DJs  were great  ..but it was really packed and  some people could have done with a shower and  anti-perspirant tbh.  :(  Lots of people pushing past  and some people just there to instagram ...  so difficult to Dance...   Blazy was great ..

Review of IllumiNaughty pres: Halloween Unleashed with Vini Vici

I've been to all the Illuminaughty events since Troxy in Oct7 2023, and this was by far and away the worst piece of commerical rubbish that they have put on.

Troxy had a real festival like feel. Great huge sculptures and extensive venue dressing, along with hired stilt walkers, gymnasts, dancers, etc. its lack of profit chasing, drew a far more grass roots psytrance crowd, with many turning up to stand at the back under the dress circle and dance doing fire twirling shows, light shows, etc, with more than 1/2 dressed to the theme.

It felt genuine.

The music was also proper psytrance music, with good DJs mixing tracks so that the beat remained and you could get into a "psychotic" trance.

At this latest event the music was awful, tracks ended without being properly mixed to maintain the beat, continuously. ChatGPT could have done better.

Add to this less than 20% of people were dancing. The main floor was rammed, and impossible to dance on, with people standing shoulder to shoulder, many cameras raised, videoing things.

The trance DJs in the 2nd room had a similar problem, no capacity to mix things, and the floor never had more than 10 people dancing on it as no one could get into a trance. Add to the this the speaker setup led to a very tinny sound.

The VIP area was just a collection of corridors, there was no VIP dance area, it was just a place for people to stand at the rail and video, and the only way you could use the seats was to pay £200+ for a bottle of vodka, with security guards constantly kicking people off the seats, and cleaners pushing dancers out the way to clean the floor.

I was awful soulless commercial drivel that has become entirely disconnected from grass root psytrance culture... I will not be buying another tick*t.

oversell tick*ts ,too many people ,   just overpacked to the point you could not physically move 
cloakroom £4 cash , queue was over an hour and a half long

Loved the venue, really spacious and clear sound. Was a bit strange that none of the vendors accepted cards below £10. Forced ppl to withdraw cash. 

It was an epic night though. The second stage was amazing and for the first half of the night, it was significantly superior to the main stage. Blazy was decent and Thallom was incredible.
