About

About London Eye - Standard Experience

London Eye - Standard Experience at the London Eye takes you on a ride on the South Bank of the River Thames, with views across central London. At 135 metres, it is the world’s tallest cantilevered observation wheel and has 32 high-tech glass capsules.

The experience lasts around 30 minutes and gives 360-degree panoramic views, with landmarks including Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, St Paul’s Cathedral, Westminster Abbey and Trafalgar Square visible on a clear day. The wheel is designed for sightseeing rather than speed, so it is a straightforward way to see a wide stretch of the capital from one place.

The London Eye also offers views up to 40 kilometres in all directions, which can include Windsor Castle on a clear day.

Key facts: one rotation takes approximately 30 minutes; the London Eye stands 135 metres tall; there are 32 glass capsules; views extend up to 40 kilometres in all directions.
