Mother Courage 26 at Shakespeare’s Globe stages Brecht’s Mother Courage and Her Children for the first time at the venue. This modern production of the anti-war play follows Mother Courage as she drags her cart through a world stripped bare by war, greed and conflict.
With live music, biting humour and a contemporary translation by Anna Jordan, the production is directed by Globe Associate Artist Elle While. It focuses on survival, capitalism and complicity through the story of a woman trying to keep herself and her children alive.
