Love's Labours Lost 26 is Shakespeare’s Love’s Labour’s Lost in a flamenco-inspired new production. Set in Navarre, it follows four women arriving on a diplomatic mission, and the way their presence unsettles the King and his lords as vows give way to love, desire and wit.
In her Globe Theatre directing debut, Associate Artist Indiana Lown-Collins brings her rural Spanish roots to the production. Her credits include work as a former Globe Resident Artist and a JMK Award win for The Solid Life of Sugar Water at Orange Tree Theatre, and that background shapes a staging rooted in rhythm, passion and poetry.
Rarely staged, this comedy is presented as a human story in which joy and revelry sit alongside longing, grief and melancholy, with love left unresolved.
