A World Elsewhere at the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse follows Cass, a boy whose imagination has always been full of stories. Inspired by his grandma’s love of Shakespeare, he and his band of imaginary friends have already met heroes, faced villains, outwitted monsters and survived shipwrecks.
Lately, though, things are changing. The stories are less exciting, the adventures are not as adventurous, and a strange darkness is creeping in. This new work is described as a celebration of storytelling, with music, laughter, friendship and imagination at its heart.
The Olivier-nominated team behind Rough Magic and Midsummer Mechanicals return with a production that is funny, moving and inventive, set in a world where the next twist in Cass’s story is still to come.
Running time: 1 hour 30 minutes.
