A World Elsewhere at the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse is a summer production that follows Cass, a boy whose imagination has always been full of stories. Inspired by his grandma’s love of Shakespeare, he and his band of imaginary friends journey through a world of heroes, villains, monsters and shipwrecks.
When the stories begin to feel uninspiring and a strange darkness starts to spread, Cass’s elsewhere-world begins to change. The show is described as a celebration of storytelling, with music, laughter, friendship and imagination at its heart. It comes from the Olivier-nominated team behind Rough Magic and Midsummer Mechanicals.
The production is presented as funny, moving and inventive, with an emphasis on the worlds that stories can create. It is designed for audiences who want a lively, family-friendly theatre experience built around adventure and imagination.
