Much Ado About Nothing 2026 at the Globe Theatre is a new production of Shakespeare’s romantic comedy, shaped by sharp tongues, gossip and a complicated attraction between Beatrice and Benedick. The war is over, but the story quickly turns to love, reputation and the damage that can be done when secrets start to spread.
Set in Messina in a world of style and status, the production follows a polished social circle where appearances matter, late-night parties run into dawn, and everyone is trying to save face. Chelsea Walker, who previously directed All’s Well That End’s Well at the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse, Globe, brings the play to the stage as a look at bad behaviour, second chances and old wounds.
Key facts: Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing at the Globe Theatre, in a new production by Chelsea Walker. The story centres on Beatrice and Benedick, with the action set in a sun-soaked, status-conscious Messina.
