The Book of Mormon at the Prince of Wales Theatre is a musical comedy created by Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the team behind South Park. It won four Olivier Awards® including Best New Musical, and follows two Salt Lake City Mormons who are sent as missionaries to Uganda.
The story puts their plans for baptisms and conversions up against harsh realities, including a particularly unpleasant warlord. With music by Avenue Q's Robert Lopez, the production uses humour to explore religion, consumerism and other themes, while remaining sharply comic and deliberately rude in places.
The show has explicit language and is described as lightweight but thought-provoking, with material that is potentially offensive as well as unexpectedly endearing.
Running time: 2 hours 30 minutes including interval.
This production contains strobe lighting, flashing lights and gunshots, together with explicit language. Children under 3 will not be admitted. Children under 16 must be accompanied by, and sat next to, a ticketholder aged 18 or over. Everyone, regardless of age, must have their own ticket to enter the theatre.
Latecomers may not be admitted until a suitable break in the performance. No exchanges or refunds are available after purchase. You may not bring food or drink purchased elsewhere into the theatre. Please note that the seating plans are not accurate representations of the auditorium, so customers with specific requirements should discuss these with the theatre before booking.
