The Book of Mormon at the Prince of Wales Theatre is a musical comedy from Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the creators of South Park. Winner of four Olivier Awards, including Best New Musical, it follows two Salt Lake City Mormons sent as missionaries to Uganda, where they meet harsh realities and a warlord.
With music by Robert Lopez, the show uses comedy to explore Mormon dogma, consumerism and religion. Its humour is deliberately rude and potentially offensive, while the story remains unexpectedly endearing and thought-provoking.
