The Book of Mormon at the Prince of Wales Theatre, London, is a musical by Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the creators of South Park. It follows two Salt Lake City Mormon missionaries sent to Uganda, where they encounter harsh realities and a particularly unpleasant warlord.
The production won four Olivier Awards® including Best New Musical. It combines songs by Avenue Q’s Robert Lopez with satire about religion, consumerism and missionary life.
The show is described as rude and potentially offensive, with comedy built around the contrast between its subject matter and its upbeat musical style.
