About Stranger Things: The First Shadow

Stranger Things: The First Shadow at Phoenix Theatre is set in Hawkins, 1959, before the world turned upside down. The story follows young Jim Hopper, Bob Newby and Joyce Maldonado as their ordinary lives are disrupted when new student Henry Creel arrives and the past begins to cast a long shadow.

Brought to life by a multi-award-winning creative team, the production uses theatrical storytelling and stagecraft to tell a new Stranger Things story that reaches back to the beginning of the series. It has five-star reviews from The Guardian, The Telegraph and The Standard.

The running time is approximately 3 hours, including an interval.

Before you book

Recommended for ages 12 and over. Under 5s are not permitted, and under 16s must be accompanied by an adult. The production contains gunfire audio, loud noises, explosions, haze, smoke, flashing lights and strobe, strong language, and depictions of mental health conditions and disorders.

The venue opens 90 minutes before the start time, and you should arrive by 30 minutes before the performance begins. Latecomers will be admitted at a suitable point, which may be the interval. No exchanges or refunds are available after purchase.
