Stranger Things: The First Shadow at the Phoenix Theatre takes audiences back to Hawkins in 1959, before the world turned upside down. The story follows a regular town with regular worries: young Jim Hopper’s car will not start, Bob Newby’s sister is unimpressed by his radio show, and Joyce Maldonado wants to graduate and leave town. When new student Henry Creel arrives, his family discovers that starting over is not so simple.

Brought to the stage by a multi-award-winning creative team, the production uses theatrical storytelling and stagecraft to tell an earlier Stranger Things story. It has also received five-star reviews from The Guardian, The Telegraph and The Standard.

Before you book

Recommended for ages 12 and over. Under 5s are not permitted. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult. The production contains gunfire audio, loud noises, explosions, haze, smoke, flashing lights and strobe lighting, strong language, and depictions of mental health conditions and disorders.

The venue opens 90 minutes before the start time, and you should arrive at least 30 minutes beforehand. Latecomers will be admitted at a suitable point, which may be the interval. No exchanges or refunds are available after purchase.
