Stranger Things: The First Shadow is at the Phoenix Theatre, London. Set in Hawkins in 1959, this theatrical prequel returns to the world before everything turned upside down. It follows a town with ordinary worries: Young Jim Hopper’s car will not start, Bob Newby’s sister will not take his radio show seriously, and Joyce Maldonado just wants to graduate and leave town. When new student Henry Creel arrives, his family discovers that starting again is not simple and that the shadows of the past can reach far into the future.

Brought to life by a multi-award-winning creative team, the production uses theatrical storytelling and stagecraft to explore the beginning of the Stranger Things story. It has also received five-star reviews from The Guardian, The Telegraph and The Standard.

Before you book

Age guidance: Recommended 12+. Under 5s are not permitted, and under 16s must be accompanied by an adult. The production contains gunfire audio, loud noises, explosions, haze, smoke, flashing lights and strobe effects, strong language, and depictions of mental health conditions and disorders. The venue opens 90 minutes before the start time; please arrive 30 minutes before the performance. Latecomers will be admitted at a suitable point, which may be the interval. No exchanges or refunds are available after purchase.
