Stranger Things: The First Shadow at the Phoenix Theatre is a stage story set in Hawkins in 1959, before the world turned upside down. It follows young Jim Hopper, Bob Newby and Joyce Maldonado as they deal with everyday worries in a town that seems ordinary, until new student Henry Creel arrives and the past begins to catch up with everyone.
Brought to life by a multi-award-winning creative team, the production returns to the beginning of the Stranger Things story and explores how events in Hawkins connect to what comes later. It is a theatre production built around the series' familiar characters and atmosphere, with stagecraft designed to bring the story to the stage.
The show has been described in reviews as a West End production that turns Stranger Things into live theatre, but the core appeal is the story itself: a prequel set in 1959 that centres on Henry Creel's arrival and the secrets that follow.
Duration: approximately 3 hours including an interval.
