Stranger Things: The First Shadow is set in Hawkins, 1959, before the world turned upside down. It follows young Jim Hopper, Bob Newby, Joyce Maldonado and newcomer Henry Creel as ordinary town life starts to unravel and the past begins to catch up with them.

Brought to life by a multi-award-winning creative team, the production uses theatrical storytelling and stagecraft to tell a new story at the start of the Stranger Things timeline. It is a prequel that looks at how the town’s darker history begins.

The story traces a regular town with regular worries: Jim Hopper’s car will not start, Bob Newby’s sister does not take his radio show seriously, and Joyce Maldonado wants to leave Hawkins. When Henry Creel arrives, a fresh start proves harder than it seems.

Duration: Approx 3 hrs including an interval.

Before you book

Age guidance: Recommended 12+. Under 5s are not permitted. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.

The production contains gunfire audio, loud noises, explosions, haze, smoke, flashing lights and strobe, strong language, and depictions of mental health conditions and disorders.

The venue opens 90 minutes before the start time. Please arrive by 30 minutes before the start time. Latecomers will be admitted at a suitable point, which may be the interval. No exchanges or refunds are available after purchase.
