About Yamato Drummers

Yamato Drummers is YAMATO’s new production, Hito no Chikara – The Power of Human Strength. In London, it follows the company’s previous appearances in 2019 and 2024 with Wings of the Phoenix.

The piece asks what remains uniquely human in a world transformed by technology. It brings together taiko drumming and choreography, with performers channelling resilience, passion and the shared heartbeat that binds people together.

YAMATO describe the sound as moving from ferocious to delicate, and as physical energy that feels raw and alive rather than music alone.
