SLST PRINCE 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL AT PALAIS !! Sun Apr 19 (6pm-11pm) - A decade on from the untimely passing of the unequalled genius that is / was Prince (Apr 21 2016 RIP), The South London Soul Train throws its annual celebration of the life and works of the ultimate showman, composer, arranger and performer aka PRINCE ROGERS NELSON, in the form of a righteous special (this time) a day party at new bass heavy Premier Peckham Venue PALAIS. 💜💜💜
As is tradition, we invite you to revel in the breathtaking works of Prince (this year) in strictly Vinyl mode! Prepare yourself, as cult of Prince members The Mighty MARLON CELESTINE and R2 Records Founder KYRI, once again worship at the Cuban heeled feet of the man who should have been called king, and at one time had no name. Marlon & Kyri exploring the wider world of Prince & The Minneapolis sound, The Time to Sheila E + beyond. An all night celebration of the sounds of one of the worlds greatest all time musicians and performers, dropped hard and in earnest all eve long. 

MARLON & KYRI exploring the deeper cuts, commercial works and pioneering career of the legendary purple don. ‘Controversy' to 'I Wanna Be your Lover' via 'Purple Rain’ and 'Do Me Baby', all dropped LIVE with relish and musically mastery, by 2 truly world class DJs. With an eclectic + Prince Intro set from SLST host JAZZHEADCHRONIC, prepare to dance harder Y’all!!!

Time to celebrate the ultimate Purple reign and party like it’s 1999! All right!

MARLON CELESTINE
Marlon a complete Prince Nut, owning every record ever released by Prince, 1977 to date and has immaculate selector taste, so know this,  you’re in extremely good and capable audio hands.
KYRI
Kyri founded R2 Records in 1999 and in that time has released music from some of the greatest names in dance music, including Osunlade (Yoruba Records), Karizma (Kohesive/Baltimore), Atjazz (ARCo.), Louie Vega (Masters At Work) and Ron Trent.
R2 has also championed new talents like Floating Points, Swingkid, Kissey Asplund and Piscean Group.

JAZZHEADCHRONIC

Renowned for his positively aggressive and highly charged eclectic good time sets of soul, funk, groove, motown, disco, latin and or future sets of broken to afro beat, jungle to drum & bass + hip hop - One things for sure, whenever or wherever Jazzheadchronic Mickey Smith plays, the dance floor blows up and the crowd always, but always feel it. Long time. 

The South London Soul Train, taking all passengers on a Non-Stop Magical Mystery Tour through all things Too Damn Funky. P-Funk to Jazz Funk, Soul Jazz to Rare Groove N' Stax, Brass, Breaks, Bop and Hop to Motown, Club Classics and Anthems.

However - Passengers are requested to check their Souls at the Station as this one's for good time party people only! No Bass Wobbles Here, Only Love, Funk and Souuuuuuuul.

The South London Soul Train Prince 10 Year Anniversary Special Runs 6pm - 11pm (event normally on the last Saturday of each month).
