The Smile Of Her at the Marylebone Theatre is Christine Lahti’s acclaimed new play, performed by Lahti herself in a strictly limited London run. Described as funny, furious and deeply personal, it is an autobiographical work that looks at one woman’s life and the world around her.
The play traces a journey from 1950s suburban America to a changing present, exploring family mythology, misogyny, ambition, motherhood and the pressure of being “a good girl”. It focuses on the stories we inherit, the voices we silence and the effort to reclaim ourselves.
Academy Award and Emmy winner Christine Lahti leads the production. Running time: 90 minutes, no interval. Dates: 10 July to 29 August 2026.
