The Smile Of Her at the Marylebone Theatre is Christine Lahti’s acclaimed new play, performed by Lahti herself in a tour-de-force role. This autobiographical work follows a woman’s journey from 1950s suburban America into a changing world, looking at family mythology, misogyny, ambition, motherhood and the pressure of being “a good girl”.
Funny, furious and personal, the play explores the stories we inherit, the voices we silence and the effort to reclaim ourselves. It is described as a strictly limited run in London.
Lahti is an Academy Award and Emmy winner.
Key facts: Running time 90 minutes, with no interval. Dates: 10th July - 29th August 2026. Suitable for ages 12+.
