The Children at Lyric Hammersmith Theatre is Lucy Kirkwood’s darkly funny drama, directed by Artistic Director Rachel O’Riordan in this 10th anniversary production. It stars the Olivier Award-nominated Meera Syal as Hazel.
Set after a catastrophe, the play follows Hazel and Robin as they try to keep living a normal life on the edge of a radiation exclusion zone, with yoga, yoghurt and parsnip wine part of the routine. When their old friend Rose arrives, buried secrets and a difficult proposition force the three to confront loyalty, responsibility and their debt to the next generation.
