A Sunday night of beautiful traditional Manouche and Romani Gypsy music, early jazz and bebop, original music and Django classics at Jamboree!
The Kamao Quartet take their inspiration from the legacy of the great Django Reinhardt and traditional Manouche and Romani (gypsy) music. Their repertoire ranges from hot swinging jazz, to traditional manouche songs, original compositions, jazz songs and occasionally Brazilian Choro. "Kamao" means "I like/ I want/ I love" in Romani dialect. The band will play two sets of the course of the night.
