The Phantom of the Opera is a musical at 57 Haymarket, London, set beneath the Paris Opera House, where the Phantom lives in a shadowy existence and his love for Christine Daaé drives the story.

Andrew Lloyd Webber’s score, together with the scenery and special effects, brings the production to the stage. The musical first opened at His Majesty’s Theatre on Thursday 9 October 1986 with Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman in the leading roles. Since then it has won 70 major theatre awards and been seen by over 140 million people worldwide.

Key facts: Running time 2 hours and 30 minutes, including one interval. Performances are Monday to Friday at 7.30pm, with Saturday performances at 2.30pm and 7.30pm.

Before you book

Children under 4 will not be admitted. Anyone aged 16 or under must be accompanied by an adult and may not sit on their own in the auditorium. All persons entering the theatre, regardless of age, must have a valid ticket.

You will receive a confirmation email with your e-ticket. Please print it and bring it on the day, and you are recommended to arrive at least 30 minutes before the performance start time. You may also need to present valid ID. No exchanges or refunds are available after purchase.

Stalls Row N-S will have the top of the staging obscured by the Royal Circle overhang. Single seats cannot be left in a row when booking.
