About

About My Neighbour Totoro

My Neighbour Totoro at the Gillian Lynne Theatre in London’s West End is the stage production of Studio Ghibli’s 1988 animated film. It follows sisters Satsuki and Mei through one extraordinary summer, exploring childhood imagination and a changing family life.

The production is brought to the stage by the Royal Shakespeare Company, in collaboration with Improbable and Nippon TV, with executive producer Joe Hisaishi and adaptation by Tom Morton-Smith. It is the winner of six Olivier Awards and has returned after its earlier run.

Described as a record-breaking production, it combines theatre, puppetry and live music in a staging that has been widely recognised for its scale and craftsmanship.

Key facts: Running time 2 hours 40 minutes, including a 20 minute interval.
