Adapted by Tom Morton-Smith and presented by the Royal Shakespeare Company with Executive Producer Joe Hisaishi, it has won six Olivier Awards.
The show follows sisters Satsuki and Mei over one extraordinary summer, with the story centring on childhood, imagination and a magical fantasy world. It is a record-breaking production that returns to the West End in 2025.
Running time: 2 hours 40 minutes, including a 20 minute interval. Awards: Winner of six Olivier Awards.
Age guidance: Recommended for ages 6+. The production is not suitable for children under 4 years old, including babes in arms. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over, who must be seated with them. Children must occupy their own seat throughout the performance.
Tickets and content: Every person entering the theatre, regardless of age, must have a valid ticket. Single seats cannot be left in a row when booking. The show features puppets, including some large-scale puppets that interact in audience space, and contains themes of an ill parent in hospital.
