About

About Teeth 'n' Smiles

Teeth 'n' Smiles is playing at the Duke of York's Theatre, St Martin's Lane, London. This 50th anniversary revival of David Hare's play follows Maggie Frisby, once the voice of 60s counterculture, as a band’s youthful hopes of rebellion collapse into bitterness.

The production includes original music and stars Rebecca Lucy Taylor (Self Esteem) as Maggie. The play traces a night fuelled by booze, fury and a voice that refuses to die, revisiting Hare's work 50 years after it first lit up the Royal Court.

With its focus on music, disillusionment and the wreckage of broken dreams, Teeth 'n' Smiles combines a new staging with a story rooted in a specific moment in British theatre history.
