RENT at the Duke of York’s Theatre, London, brings Jonathan Larson’s groundbreaking musical back to the West End in a new production directed by Luke Sheppard. Thirty years after it redefined musical theatre, the show returns with a story centred on a generation trying to make every moment count.
Inspired by Puccini’s La Bohème, RENT explores joy, uncertainty and resilience through themes of community and connection. It is presented as a powerful musical about living life with urgency, ending with the line, “No day but today.”
