Arcadia at Duke of York's Theatre, St Martin's Lane, London, brings Sir Tom Stoppard's play to the West End in a new production directed by Carrie Cracknell. It transfers from The Old Vic following a critically acclaimed run.
Set in a country house across two centuries, the play moves between 1809 and the present day. Teenage prodigy Thomasina Coverly explores mathematics, nature and the forces that shape the universe and the human heart, while author Hannah Jarvis investigates a chapter in the life of Lord Byron.
As past and present intertwine, Arcadia follows curiosity, lost knowledge and the tension between order and disorder. The Duke of York's Theatre has been newly renovated into the round for this production.
