Arcadia at Duke of York's Theatre, St Martin's Lane, London, is Sir Tom Stoppard's play in a West End transfer following The Old Vic's critically acclaimed run. Directed by Carrie Cracknell, this production places science and romance side by side in a country house story that moves across two centuries.
In 1809, teenage prodigy Thomasina Coverly explores mathematics, nature and the forces that govern both the universe and the human heart. In the present day, author Hannah Jarvis investigates a chapter in the life of Lord Byron with precision and patience, and the two timelines begin to echo one another.
The production opens at the newly renovated Duke of York's Theatre, which has been transformed into the round especially for this show, from 20 June for a strictly limited 12-week run.
