Arcadia at Duke of York's Theatre, St Martin's Lane, London, is Sir Tom Stoppard's play transferring to the West End after a critically acclaimed run at The Old Vic. Directed by Carrie Cracknell, this production is being staged in the round especially for this run at the newly renovated theatre.
The play moves between 1809 and the present day in a country house, where two stories unfold alongside one another. In the earlier timeline, teenage prodigy Thomasina Coverly explores mathematics, nature and the forces that shape the universe and the human heart. In the present day, author Hannah Jarvis investigates a chapter in the life of Lord Byron, as questions of history, curiosity and disorder connect past and present.
Key facts: The production opens on 20 June for a strictly limited 12-week run.
