About Dark of the Moon
Dark of the Moon at The Arches, London is a new musical about witchcraft, small-town prejudice and love. It brings together a rural Appalachian town and the mystical world of witches and warlocks from the Smoky Mountains.
The story follows Barbara Allen, a human girl, and John, a curious witch-boy, as they are drawn to each other and try to build a life together. At the centre of the drama is whether their relationship can endure the worlds and communities around them.
Key facts: The score reflects the clash between the two settings, using a blend of country/bluegrass and rock.
