About Dark of the Moon
Dark of the Moon at The Arches, London is a new musical about a supernatural conflict between a rural Appalachian town and the mystical world of witches and warlocks in the Smoky Mountains. It centres on Barbara Allen, a human girl, and John, a curious witch-boy, as they defy their communities and try to build a life together.
The show explores witchcraft, small-town prejudices and the power of love. Its score draws on both country/bluegrass and rock to reflect the contrast between the two worlds at the heart of the story.
