Dark of the Moon is a supernatural new musical at The Arches, London. It tells the story of Barbara Allen, a human girl, and John, a curious witch-boy, as they fall for each other and try to build a life together across two very different worlds.
The show centres on the tensions between a rural Appalachian town and the mystical world of witches and warlocks from the Smoky Mountains above it. Its score reflects that contrast with a blend of country/bluegrass and rock.
The story brings together witchcraft, small-town prejudice and love, as the pair face the consequences of a deal made by the dark of the moon.
