About

About The Oresteia

Simon Stone’s The Oresteia plays at the Bridge Theatre in London. Stone, an Australian theatre and film director, is known for radical reworkings of classic works, including Yerma and Phaedra, and he returned to the Bridge after staging The Lady from the Sea starring Alicia Vikander and Andrew Lincoln last year.

This production follows a contemporary family that wakes up in a Greek myth and cannot seem to find a way out of its hellish destiny. It brings a classical story into a modern family setting, with the focus on how that myth unfolds for the people caught inside it.

Key facts: The production is directed by Simon Stone and continues his run of work at the Bridge Theatre.
