About

About The Oresteia

The Oresteia at the Bridge Theatre in London is Simon Stone’s contemporary production of the Greek myth. Stone, the Australian theatre and film director, has previously reworked classic texts including Yerma and Phaedra, and returned to the Bridge after The Lady from the Sea last year.

In this version, a contemporary family wakes up in a Greek myth and cannot seem to find a way out of its hellish destiny. The story is presented as a modern retelling of a classic work, shaped by Stone’s approach to familiar material.
