About Into the Woods

Into the Woods at the Bridge Theatre is Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s musical, set around a series of wishes and journeys into the woods. The story follows the Baker, the Baker’s Wife, the Witch, Jack, Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella and Rapunzel as they move beyond “happy ever after” to find out what really matters.

The show asks why you would go into the woods: to sell the cow, lift the spell, visit mother, see the king, or perhaps to find yourself. It brings together well-known fairy-tale characters in a single production with a clear focus on consequences, choices and what happens next.

Before you book

No one under the age of 5 is permitted in the auditorium. All audience members must have a valid ticket, and no children are allowed on laps.

This production contains themes of grief, death and graphic violence. It also contains haze, strobe lighting in Act 2 only, and loud noises. The content list may be updated as the production takes shape. No exchanges or refunds are available after purchase.
