Into the Woods at the Bridge Theatre is Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s musical about what happens when fairy-tale lives meet real consequences. The Baker, the Baker’s Wife, the Witch, Jack, Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella and Rapunzel all head into the woods in search of something they want, whether that is a spell lifted, a visit to a mother, a cow sold or a king found.
The story moves beyond the usual happy ending as the characters discover what really matters. It brings familiar fairy-tale figures together in a production that combines the original characters with a more layered look at choice, loss and responsibility.
