Though they’ve been filling dancefloors for more than 40 years, Shakatak somehow managed to retain their unique status as both a cool cult band and a household name.
Weaving a potent dose of perfect pop into their unmistakable brand of jazz funk, they became one of the biggest bands of the 80s, producing a string of timeless classics including Easier Said Than Done, Down On The Street and Night Birds. Funkier than a mosquito’s tweeter, they’re still firing on all cylinders with the same effervescent energy they made their name with.
