About

About High Society

High Society at the Barbican Centre is Cole Porter’s musical comedy about a society wedding that unravels when old flames, new romances and a sharp-eyed tabloid reporter all arrive at a waterfront estate. This summer production brings the story to the Barbican in a new staging with a full-size orchestra.

Helen George stars as socialite Tracy Lord and Felicity Kendal also appears in the cast. The score includes well-known Cole Porter songs such as Just One Of Those Things, Let’s Misbehave, I Love Paris, Who Wants To Be a Millionaire?, Well, Did You Evah and True Love.

Brought together by a multi award-winning creative team including Rachel Kavanaugh and choreographer Anthony Van Laast, the production features a 28-strong cast and presents Cole Porter’s Golden Age musical theatre in a lavish new version.

Duration: Approximately 2 hours 30 minutes, including a 20-minute interval.
